Guided Meditation

The mind is like the ocean; thoughts are like the waves, always coming. The simplest way to clear water obscured by mud and other sediments is to allow the water to grow still. In the same way, if you allow the mind to come to rest, ignorance, attachment, aversion and all other mental afflictions will gradually settle, and  compassion, clarity and the infinite expanse of your mind’s real nature will revealed.

 

Meditation does not close you off from the world.

Rather, it opens your heart and mind to the beauty of what you already have.

I am passionate about the practice of meditation, because it has helped me become much more mindful and present. Mindfulness has enabled me to become less reactive, more passionate about life, and much more compassionate, creative, grateful and joyful.

How does meditation work? As you can imagine, it can be difficult to be mindful and present, until you figure out how to calm down the voice in your head, which is a lot like a really obnoxious roommate, who incessantly blathers, blames, complains, gossips, screams, cries, and runs a repetitive and relentless inner dialogue that keeps you from being present.

Rather than getting caught up in the Hustler’s recycled inner-dialogue and commentary, dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, mindfulness through meditation enables you to be present to a feeling, a thought, or a situation, without being overwhelmed by it. It allows you to be fully in the here and now, instead of wishing for something else. Meditation is a practice so you be more mindful, calm, compassionate and loving throughout your day.
