I’m not trying to rain on your parade and be Debbie Downer. There will be plenty of posts about #gratitude and being #thankful and of course lots and lots of food and pumpkin pie today.⁠

I’m not one for blanket affirmations like “Have an attitude of gratitude” if you’re not feeling joyful or grateful. They feel cheesy (to me).⁠

If I’m feeling an emotion, I can’t put a bandaid on a feeling to make it go away. ⁠

If you’re feeling sad today, or anything other emotion, allow yourself to also feel that.⁠

You can be #GRATEFUL…AND other emotions. At the same time.⁠

You don’t have to feel just ONE way. ⁠

ALL of your emotions can co-exists. ⁠

You are a multifaceted human Soul!⁠

… today is my favorite Holiday (and my dad’s too). I will be fat and happy today celebrating all that is so good in life . . . while also allowing myself a little sorrow and nostalgia remembering and missing him.⁠
