EP 71:Not everything is fixable, but everything is figureoutable

figureoutable final (2)

Last week, I sat at my dad’s tombstone balling my eyes out like a baby. I’m talking the super ugly cry.

Outloud, I poured out my fears, insecurities and doubts to him.

To say I miss him is an understatement.

My dad was my best friend. He was my greatest teacher and my biggest cheerleader. He was the one I went to for advice.

He passed away almost a year ago, just 2 weeks before my baby was born.

It’s been hard to raise a baby … and myself.

Later that night, I couldn’t sleep and tried to meditate to quiet my mind and I heard his whisper guide me:

1) Stay in your lane
Stop worrying about others or comparing yourself to other peoples’ successes. Be happy for them. You have your own gifts to share. Focus on that.

2) Focus on Service > popularity
Let go of trying to be popular and liked. Be yourself and speak from your heart. Focus on providing quality content that comes from your heart, and you’ll always be proud of yourself for showing up authentically.

3) Inspiration is all around you
When you feel stuck, inspire yourself – learn something new, read, move your body, breathe. There is inspiration out there if you look. Feel inspired by doing the things that inspire you.

4) Be gentle and enjoy
You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be in your journey. You may not be able to see the finish line now. Pick up your head, look around. Look at the path you’ve created, and smile.

5). Enjoy THIS moment.

Although he is gone, he is still with me. I desperately needed those words of wisdom from him, especially with all of the fears I’m going through with expanding and creating SOUL SCHOOL.

Any time you expand, grow or change, your comfort zone will be challenged.

This reminded me of a few weeks ago when I went to see Marie Forleo at her live book launch, and she said,

“Not everything is fixable, but everything is figureoutable.”

Death is something out of our control and is not fixable.

But Life IS figureoutable.

When he passed, there were days I didn’t think I could get out of bed, but I did.

Days where I didn’t think I could raise a baby, and I’m doing it.

Days where I’ve doubted myself so much I thought about quitting, but instead I keep moving forward with new projects (still scared as hell!) and growing and expanding my comfort zone.

Hopefully these words help you wherever you’re at on your journey. You are not alone.

You have the answers within you.

much love,
Audrey
